The name of the town is today San Mauro Pascoli, in honour of the great poet Giovanni Pascoli, who was born here in 1855, and who described in his poems the life and the landscape of Romagna. In the center of the town you can visit the House-Museum of the poet: the rooms open to the public are the kitchen, the study (where are kept rare editions of his poems and numerous letters) and the bedroom, with the old wooden cradle.
San Mauro Mare is a hamlet of San Mauro Pascoli: small and calm vacation center, it offers to the tourists a beach of fine and golden sand, modern receptive structures, hotels, apartments, bathing establishments. Besides the classic vacation, made of sun and sea, the town offers different occasions of relax and entertainment: cruises, sports, shows and concerts, shopping and cultural events. And for those who do not want to leave their dog home, in San Mauro there is also the 'Fido Beach' , a reserved area only for dogs.
From San Mauro you can reach the inner towns, between the green plain and hills, where to discover treasures of art and evocative views, nature and ancient small villages.
